Policies & Notifications

 

Helmets

All skaters, regardless of experience or age, must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet up to and including CanSkate Stage 5.

Refunds

All refunds must be made in writing to the club at dvsctreasurer@gmail.com and will be prorated upon receipt of written notice and appropriate medical documentation.

  • Fees will be refunded on a prorated basis and only with a medical note after withdrawal dates.
  • The Skate Canada membership fee is non-refundable once applications have been processed.
  • Withdrawals after September 30th for participants registered in StarSkate will not be eligible for any refunds. No exceptions. Withdrawals after October 31st for PreCan & CanSkate will not be eligible for any refunds. No exceptions.
  • A $25 fee will be charged on all NSF cheques and Drayton Valley Skating Club reserves the right to request cash payment on future payments.

Liability

The club will not be responsible for personal injury or loss of property.

Cancellations

Drayton Valley Skating Club reserves the right to change and/or cancel sessions depending on registration, to accommodate special events or emergency situations.

There will be no make-up sessions for snow days and/or rink closures.

Anti-Spam Legislation

By registering to a Drayton Valley Skating Club program, you consent to the club contacting you regarding program details and future schedules up to 1 year from this year’s registration.

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting media.dvsc@gmail.com

Media Permission

Drayton Valley Skating Club would like to share accomplishments of our skaters with our larger community. This may include photos and/or interviews published on our website, facebook page, media releases and/or public television or newspapers.

By registering to a Drayton Valley Skating Club program, you consent to the club posting these items to the media listed above. 

Use of Personal Information

Personal information provided during registration is used to facilitate enrolment, administer our programs, and provide contact information that will be used to notify you of other skating programs and events.

All registration information will be shared with Skate Canada for registration, statistics, and program development purposes. 

Deposits

Fundraising Deposit - Two $100.00 checks per skater, Fundraising Bond Check postdated with the set dates for that year (further details to come).

Volunteer Deposit - Volunteer Deposits will be postdated for March 1st, in the amount of $200.00 per skater up to a maximum of $400.00.  You are required to write two separate cheques for this deposit, if the maximum amount it being given. If you complete volunteer requirements your cheque will be shredded or returned upon request and if you do not complete your volunteer requirements than the cheque will be deposited.
