We are in full swing again after a great holiday break. It's been a good week plus a few days, and everyone is excited to be back on the ice again. Important Dates
Pre-Can and CanSkate UpdatesSpring LessonsSpring registration is now open for our upcoming Pre-Can and CanSkate lessons, starting in March. Parent Opinion Survey We have recently changed the day and time of our CanSkate and Pre-Can lessons, and we want to know how the new times are working for our parents. Please take our quick online survey, as your input is important to the club and our decisions for future seasons. StarSkate UpdatesMonday Practice TimeOn Mondays, from 4:00 - 4:15pm is Sr Stroking time, and we would like to encourage Jr's to remain off the ice until 4:15pm. Carnival Line Schedule Susan Aarts has sent all StarSkate parents the Carnival practice schedule. Please check your email for the updated schedule. Carnival UpdatesOur 68th annual Ice Show Carnival is coming up in February! Coaches, skaters and our parent committees are gearing up and preparing for the big event! Starting at the end of January and throughout February, information will be sent regarding Carnival. Please ensure you check your emails regularly and have signed up for our class on the Remind app to stay informed. Mandatory Volunteer Positions Julie Sinclair, our Volunteer Coordinator, has sent information to all parents regarding the mandatory volunteer positions available for our Ice Show Carnival. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Julie directly at dvsc.volunteer@gmail.com. Fundraising Our second MANDATORY raffle ticket prize fundraiser will be launched shortly! Please stay tuned for information and where to pick up your raffle books.

Casino Night Fundraising The DVSC has been awarded a Casino night to run in Camrose on Friday and Saturday, March 24 - 25, 2023. Our club benefits immensely when we participate in Casino nights, and we will need between 8-16 people from our club to volunteer to make this a success. There will be two shifts of four people, and the shifts will run from 3:00pm - 9:00pm and 8:30pm - 2:00am (plus an hour to cash out). Accommodations are provided if you work the night shift or a shift on each one of the days. Stay tuned for further details. Executive Committee UpdatesMeetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the Curling Rink Lounge. Please feel free to contact us or attend a meeting if you have concerns.
